To Be of Use:  Stories of Labor and Identity in Southwestern Pennsylvania premiers 7/31 and 8/1 at Future Tenant on Penn Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. I want to acknowledge  the following for their help and support:

  • Corinne, Kate at FT and Carnegie Mellon University
  • Noelle and Mary Anne
  • Mac Howison
  • Jeannine
  • Janis Ramey and WorkQuest
  • The Squirrel Hill Writers’ Group
  • The Carnegie Library, University of Pittsburgh Archives, and ExplorePA History
  • James and Erin
  • Mike Rose at UCLA
  • Those I interviewed for sharing their hearts and minds about working in the ‘burgh and in Southwestern Pennysylvania.

For anyone who can’t make it 7/31 or 8/1, I’ll present similar material at the Pumphouse in Homestead on Sunday August 9th at 2 PM. This performance will benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and honor the late local storyteller Joe Healy and his wife Frankie. For more information please see the GPCFB announcement or go to the event listing at Rivers of Steel Heritage.

Thanks.
